Dear ladies and gentlemen,
You are kindly invited to attend “The Balkan SME Conference – Sofia 2016”, organised by the Association for Assistance of Small and Medium sized Enterprises – United Business Clubs (UBC) with the special support of the the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency (BSMEPA) and InvestBulgaria Agency, both part of the Ministry of Economy.
The event will be held in Sofia Hotel Balkan (ex-Sheraton), on the 23rd of June 2016, strating at 9.00 AM.
During the conference there will be discussions on the following topics:
- Turning the disadvantages into opportunities: the Balkans – a serious future factor in the European technological and industrial development
- EU funds and programmes – partnerships between the Balkan SMEs, local authorities, universities and research centres; project preparation and management
- EU funding for SMEs and municipalities in the area of security and antiterrorism
- Juncker Investment Plan and EFSI
- Financial instruments for stimulating the internationalization of the SMEs
- Tourism – the third important and profitable economic sector in Europe; cooperation between the Balkan SMEs and municipalities in the field of tourism
The conference will be attended mainly by representatives of SMEs, NGOs and local authorities (municipalities) from all the Balkan countries.
Official guests of the event will be representatives of the European Commission, the European Parliament, the official Bulgarian authorities, foreign missions in Bulgaria, presidents of pan-European, trans-national and national organizations.
The Balkan SME Conference – Sofia 2016 will be reported by the leading Bulgarian media. Journalists from almost all other Balkan states will be also invited.

BESIDE THE EVENT: Sofia is the capital and largest city of Bulgaria. The city has a population of 1.26 million. The city is located at the foot of Vitosha Mountain. Sofia is the economic heart of Bulgaria and home to most major Bulgarian and international companies operating in the country, as well as the Bulgarian National Bank and the Bulgarian Stock Exchange.
